The president of the parliamentary commission for health Mende Dinevski publicly pointed out the campaign and its main messages from the project “From increased voice to the improved health care access” on the fourth sequel of the 77th parliamentary assembly
The campaign and its main messages from the National Roma Centrum’s project “From increased voice to the improved health care access” were mentioned in front of the MPs on the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia. The president of the parliamentary commission for health, Mende Dinevski, addressed his colleagues on the 77th parliamentary assembly regarding the conditions of the healthcare insurance in the country.
In his speech, among other things, Dinevski said:
“I want to point out one thing while we are here. There’s an analysis made about the recipients of social welfare as a target group, referring to women aged 15 – 49, in their reproductive period. It is about 32.222 women in the Republic of Macedonia. According to the data from the Health Insurance Fund and the Ministry for labour and social politics, in 2011 there were 27.770 live births in Macedonia. The estimation is that out of 32.222 women aged 15 – 49, the number of women recipients of social welfare, directly or indirectly, i.e. as accompanying persons, is 1400 on an annual level. According to the protocols of the Ministry of Health, they should have 10 antenatal check-ups” and added:
“The financial sum for the gynecological visits for these women, recipients of social welfare, is 2.240 MKD, or the monthly income of the social welfare. The total sum is 3 million MKD, i.e. 50 000 EUR. If you want to help the women in Macedonia, this vulnerable category, then don’t let them pay. Let these finances be on the expense of the Ministry for health and then you will convince us that what you do is in the interest of the citizens, and not the other way around.”
